I know – The logo workshop by 178 was absolutely ages ago.
Still, as far as I remember, we never wrote about the process how we got from the old logo:
to the new one:
Browsing Marcel Kampman’s webspace I discovered that he connected us to the 178 logo designers:
He also blogged about it, writing:
178 LOGO WORKOUT WITH KNOWMADS – I’ve asked my friends at 178 to help out Knowmads with their logo stuff. They had some terrible soul-less designs hanging on the wall, that so did not fit Knowmads at all. So they did a Logo Workout like only 178 can do, with some great results that perfectly fit Knowmads!
And I just found out that also 178 mentions the logo workshop with pictures and (dutch) text:
From our perspective it was a very nice workshop back then (April or so…). 178 made a nice mix between theory and actually making a logo. I remember them telling us that the logo, the visual identity, is much stronger if it represents also ‘whats behind the story’. In our case this is our identity:
- Action Learning Business School
- Brave, Creative Students
- Win-Win-Win Concepts
- Head, Harts, Hands
- Problem Solvers
- Connectors
Thats why we started to write the name ‘knowmads’ with materials that are initially made to ‘connect’, e.g. ropes, nails and sticky notes. Afterwards they took pictures of them and edited them. Later in the week we received a couple possible logos that 178 harvested from the workshop, e.g. this one:
If you want to know what the other options were scroll down here.
The hardest part was to actually choose one of the logos. We edited our selves further on the proposals, asked 178 to adjust certain parts, and finally made a democratic decision.
I share this picture from the workshop, for more visit Marcel Kampmans/ the 178 website.
