Knowmads in 3 minutes

We are a creative, entrepreneurial school. Knowmads (students and staff) are nomadic workers who can work anywhere, with everybody. We are brave, responsible, creative, imaginative and entrepreneurial. We work in a one year setting of a school, combined with a socio-economic enterprise. We build blocks for a more colourfull and better world.

Our program is based on action learning in a team setting. Within this we connect social and sustainability issues with value driven entrepreneurship.

By attending Knowmads you become one of the owners of the school. Your tuition fee is 4.500 euro. With this you get a share in the limited partnership Knowmads Team 3. Above this Limited Partnership there is a Knowmads PLC and the Foundation Knowmads.

The Knowmads PLC is responsible for bringing in at least 4 assignments/challenges from our partners in this year. These assignments/challenges have to connect to at least one of the themes:

• Entrepreneurship & New Business Design;
• Social Innovation & sustainability
• Personal leadership
• (International) Project Design.
• Process Design.

With each theme partners bring in an assignment and one employee. As a team, together with that employee, we are going to work with the knowledge, feeling and ideas we need to present a real working solution for the assignment/challenge the partner brought in.
We present this back in a pitch, together with a quote and working plan. When the partner accepts the plan the students will work it out, for real.

So by working on real life assignments four times a year we connect and implement the learning experiences into the assignment/challenge. Next to this we try to inspire and coach the Knowmads on working on their own ideas ad projects.

There will be a staff available to organize all of this. Next to this we fly in (connected to the neccesary knowledge/skills) leaders from media, business and politics to get the knowledge and skills needed to work on the assignments. The idea is also that each Knowmad will be coached once in the two weeks by someone from our network. These coaches are all entrepreneurs.

Knowmads are people that acknowledge each other and have an entrepreneurial drive. They share a purpose: to create win-win-win situations: a win for the students, a win for the client and a win for the society.

In the “Curriculum” there are themes which connect to Head, Heart and Hands:

theory, values, real-life projects, workshops, a physical and spiritual stream, coaching and training.

We listen to each other, we play together, we see each other for who we really are, we take each other seriously, we bring out the best in each other and we challenge each other.

By doing so we work on autonomy, breakthrough, interconnectedness and transformation in this one year, and by doing so we become a community, like real nomads. After the first year it is possible to go on an international project somewhere in the world or get a half year of coaching and support to start your own business.

Knowmads is much more than a school. It is a platform for entrepreneurs who want to make a difference in this world.
