Sjoerd Louwaars is the Project Manager Entrepreneurship at the Centre for Innovation of Leiden University. He designs entrepreneurship education and creates peer-to-peer learning opportunities on the nexus of science and society. His projects are geared towards facilitating the development of urban initiatives with social impact.
The Entrepreneurship program brings students together with different academic backgrounds, both inside and outside the classroom. Based on complimentary fields of knowledge and personal characteristics, we create opportunities for students to have an impact on society. In this journey, we see students develop valuable life and career skills. Hence, both education and society profits.
Sjoerd obtained a degree with distinction in urban development at the Delft University of Technology. Sjoerd worked as a consultant at Twynstra Gudde and conducted research at the Rotterdam Development Authority. After which he started his own social start-up Weaverbird.
