The age old question (well maybe for the past 2 years)…What is Knowmads all about?
Let’s get a little transparent.
I joined the Marketing Magic team about 4-5 weeks ago (but who’s counting?). It was here that a small group of us Knowmads mostly from Tribe 5 decided to take on the task of marketing the hell out of the Knowmads Business School with the ultimate goal of getting 50 people to the application workshop in July. A hefty goal when the largest applicant group was at most 20 (someone can fact check that) but hey we like BHAGs (big hairy audacious goals) that we believe we can achieve.
Tribe Fivers, Robert and I, both wanted to take on the social media challenge so the gentleman that he is invited me over to his place for a nice romantic vegetarian dinner to talk strategy. What came of that night? No, I didn’t end up taking the walk of shame the next morning. But I did see his bedroom and ladies take note; he had a nice size bed, a love seat, and what looked like a 30′ flat screen tv but I’m not great at estimating those things. He also has a cat named Pookie and 2 other flatmates that seemed pretty chill. Oh, and a downstairs neighbor that let’s in random strangers. Robert, am I missing anything else?
Right, the good stuff.
What Robert and I created that night was Project MAYhem. 10 outrageous projects, in 30 days, starting in May.
But weren’t you guys supposed to be creating a social media strategy?
Absolutely. However, we believe that in order to have some kick ass social media Knowmads has to do some pretty kick ass crazy sh@t in order for there to be a buzz. I’m not saying that what we have been doing at Knowmads the last 2 months hasn’t been crazy, I just honestly can’t put into words what the heck has been happening at Knowmads and I show up every day.
Right now all I can say is you have to experience it for yourself…until we Knowmads can figure out how to tell the story. Which I’m excited to say will be a workshop coming soon!
What is concrete to Robert and me is organizing a Knowmads headquarters takeover and executing 10 business projects with students from Tribe 4, 5, and Knowmadic Learning Lab, seeing what off the wall projects we can achieve in 30 days, and basically getting things done.
Project MAYhem is about learning to work chaotically in an organized way thanks to some predetermined facilitation. It’s about entrepreneurship. Taking risks and not being afraid to go after the big projects. Having loads of opportunities to fail but being ok with it because there are also loads of opportunities to succeed. Do you realize that most of the competition is competing with each other at the mediocre goals and business projects because most people don’t believe they can achieve greatness? Therefore there’s less competition where we will be come the start of Project Mayhem. Let’s Go!
Are your own goals big enough or are you swimming doggie paddle with most of the average competition?
Our main intention for Project Mayhem is to show the world what the Knowmads Business School is capable of and in the process use it as a marketing ploy tool. What better way to show what Knowmads is all about then to achieve 10 outrageous projects in 30 days organized by students and executed by all?
So for the next 6 weeks we will be letting you in on how Knowmads really works. Pictures, blog posts, videos, maybe the occasional video blog, you name it we’re going to show you what happens “when people stop being polite and start being real.”
You can find Kristin getting sh@t done at KM HQ and on her blog at Kristingoesknowmadic.
